Synod Proceedings 2001
Proceedings 2001
At the end of each meeting of General Synod, the Standing Committee publishes a book of proceedings concerning its decisions and resolutions. They also contain lists of officers and members of the Synod as well as a summary of some reports in relation to the Synod's finances and statutory bodies. They are particularly useful to see what the Church's view is on many social issues.

As such, they are the barest of recordings. They are not in any sense an account of the debate or activities which occurred at the Synod. They therefore do not include any information about the worship, socialising, interaction, debate, conversation, argument, rejoicing, praying and giving thanks to God the Creator and Redeemer which are a large part of any meeting.

The Proceedings from the 12th General Synod which met in Brisbane from 21-27 July 2001 may be downloaded below. Due to size restrictions the document consists of two parts:
    • Part A contains lists of officers and members of Synod, the presidential address, resolutions, canons, elections and reports on action taken on resolutions and canons from 1998. It also contains information about the Trust Corporation and the Appellate Tribunal. It is approximately 160 pages long (800KB).
    • Part B contains the financial report of Standing Committee. It is approximately 40 pages long (940KB).
