Organisations Established By the General Synod
The following organisations have been established by the General Synod. This means that they are bodies established by General Synod canon to be responsible for paticular ministries that are important to Church's life and mission. They are therefore national Anglican organisations accountable to the General Synod and its Standing Committee.

Anglican Board of Mission - Australia (ABM) Ltd

ABM is a national Anglican organisation responsible for providing overseas partner Churches with assistance with evangelism, ministry, church and community development, and emergency relief.

Anglican Superannuation Australia (formerly known as Australian Clergy Provident Fund)

ASA was the national superannuation fund of the Church formed under a General Synod Canon in 1905 to serve the national church, it's clergy and employees. The Canon was repealed in 2004 and the fund was taken over in 2006 with Australian Superannuation. Please direct all enquiries to:

National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Anglican Council (NATSIAC)

NATSIAC formally represents the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members of the Church nationally. It assists in the provision of pastoral care as well as assists, encourages and resources Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ministries.

Australian College of Theology

The Australian College of Theology proposes and administers undergraduate and postgraduate academic programs in the field of theology, not only for the specialised needs of ministerial and missionary candidates but also for lay people interested in understanding the Christian faith and its implications for contemporary life.

National Home Mission Fund (Anglican Outback Fund)

Formed over 30 years ago, this Fund promotes the Church's mission in outback areas by supporting clergy and parishes throughout regional Australia particularly the dioceses of North Queensland, Northern Territory, North West Australia, Riverina and Willochra.

Defence Force Board

The Board is a resource to the Church on all matters concerning ministry to the members of the Australian Defence Force and their families. It administers funds allocated for the support of the Bishop to the Defence Force and assists the Chaplains in their work.
