Hello and Welcome,

Although the General Synod Office is small, it has a big task in relation to the Church and a specific mission to assist the Church's engagement with Australian society. On this site you will find information about the work of this office, those who work here, and our mission as a group of people. We exist to serve the Anglican community in a variety of ways. The office is responsible for planning and organising the General Synod, which is the national decision making body of the Anglican Church of Australia, and for coordinating related activities.

Our fundamental mission is to help Anglican Christians in their engagement with Australian society.

We see this work as participation in what God is doing in the world, and hence we look for the renewal of the Church in its life and mission, and seek to cooperate with the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

If this is your initial contact with the Anglican Church of Australia, then may I encourage you to contact the Diocese, or the Parish, which is closest to you. It is those people and those local communities that provide the most direct contact with the faith of this Church.

Welcome to this Page and the work of the GSO. I trust that you will find the information helpful and interesting.

With warmest good wishes,

Yours sincerely,

Martin Drevikovsky
The General Secretary of the Anglican Church of Australia.
